30 years of service to the industry

Course on a half billion overnight accomodation since the reunification – national tourism federation Saxonia registered association (LTV SACHSEN) celebrates 30-year anniversary in June 2021

Saxony as a travel destination was like a Sleeping Beauty that was kissed awake at the founding event of the Landesfremdenverkehrsverband Sachsen e. V. on April 5, 1991. This is how Erich Iltgen, the first LTV president, once put it. Sleeping Beauty must have dreamed of a tourist future and a surplus of Saxon opportunities. Thorns away and arms open to the world! How else can almost half a billion overnight stays in the travel destination be explained since the fall of communism?

LTV SACHSEN and its members and partners have played a major role in this success story. On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, more than 100 movers and shakers and companions of Saxon tourism took part virtually and personally in the anniversary celebration at the association’s founding site, the mountain and panorama hotel Bastei in Saxon Switzerland, on June 25, 2021. Some very touching words and statements are summarized here:
